- Frame Analysis: The network frames are analyzed one by one for errors, timing, network load and other detailed statistical information.
- Flow Analysis: The network frames are analyzed as flows. These can be flows between two IP endpoints, e.g. between a PC and a server in the network, or flows between two applications, e.g. between two IP phones.
-
Data Recording: All or selected frames are captured and stored typically to large RAID disk arrays, where they can be analyzed later. Network frames are stored for many different purposes, e.g. to document or analyze what has happened on a network.
Network Monitoring Systems benefit from Napatech adapter features, such as:
- High-precision Time-stamping
- Line Speed Capture
- Capture of Error Frames
- Frame Classification
- Frame Filtering
- Coloring/Tagging
- Frame Statistics
