The easiest way to control the Napatech Intelligent Network Adapter time is to read the system clock from the host operating system, and use this as the basis for time-stamping and synchronization.
All Napatech Network Adapters are able to synchronize with the clock of the host. A dynamic drift algorithm ensures that the time used for time-stamping does not jump back and forth in time, in case the adapter and host drift away from each other over time, or if the host clock is suddenly adjusted backwards in time. In this way, the correct sequence of frames - identified by their time stamps - is preserved.
