Host-based Retransmit

Advanced in-line packet processing is possible by the flexible, multi-channel host-based retransmit feature. Host-based Retransmit assumes that the packets are captured to the host before being retransmitted.

The Host-based Retransmit feature is capable of full line rate retransmit on all ports. It enables the host to perform functions to process/prepare the packet streams to be transmitted. Host-based Retransmit can perform at full line rate providing packets are prepared and sent to the adapter at full line rate.
Server-based Retransmit
The Host-based Retransmit feature is extremely flexible and allows any single packet to be inspected, modified (including automatic calculation of a new MAC CRC), and retransmitted out again on any adapter channel.

The advanced filter logic can be used to pre-fill the TX descriptor fields, e.g. frames received on port 0 will be retransmitted on port 1.
