The Napatech Host-based Transmit functionality enables line speed transmit of network frames generated by the host application.
The Host-based Transmit feature is extremely flexible and allows any frame to be generated and transmitted. This includes frames with Ethernet MAC CRC errors. To accelerate the transmit function the adapter can be configured to generate the Ethernet MAC CRCs.
Similar to the capture functionality, the Host-based Transmit feature is utilizing a zero copy interface that results in very low CPU utilization.
Furthermore, it is possible to specify the inter-frame gap (IFG) as a global parameter or on a per-frame basis, which enables full control of the timing for the transmitted frames.

Frames can be retransmitted automatically with the same IFG as received.
