    Napatech Announces new highly Configurable LibPCAP for their NT Family of 1 GbE and 10 GbE High-performance Network Adapters

    Andover, Massachusetts - December 9th, 2008.
     

    Napatech today announces a new implementation of LibPCAP supporting the NT family of 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps high-performance network adapters. The new Napatech LibPCAP implementation can utilize all the below functionality without the need to modify the customer application:

    • Plug-and-play use
    • Line speed delivery of network data to customer applications at any frame size
    • Very low CPU utilization, below 1% LibPCAP and driver overhead for 10 Gbps delivered to application
    • Utilization of many of the advanced Napatech Network Adapter features
    • Distribution of network frames to 1-32 CPU cores
    • Distribution of network frames to host CPUs based on 2/5-tuple hash keys
    • Use of up to 64 advanced adapter hardware filters

    Napatech Announces new Feature Set for their NT20 PCI Express Family of 10 GbE High-performance Network Adapters

    Andover, Massachusetts - December 5th, 2008.
     
    Napatech today announces the latest release called CLEVELAND for their NT20E family of 10 Gbps FPGA-based high-performance network adapters for PCI Express. The CLEVELAND release includes the following new features:
    • Local Retransmit, allowing in-line device functions including filtering without involving the host CPU
    • Time Sync Support for one pulse per second input, allowing for CDMA, GSM, IRIG-B sync
    • Extended Statistics delivered as a consistent time-stamped snapshot

    Napatech Wins Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008" Award

    Thursday evening in Copenhagen, Napatech received the national Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008" award in the category "Venture Backed Innovation". The award is based on Napatech´s success in establishing itself as a leading vendor on the important US marketplace, and on the importance of the Napatech 10GbE technology used in many segments for real-time data analysis.

    The flattering statement from the jury highlighted that "Napatech uses more than half of its revenue stream on R&D; and the company is a Danish entity who has already become market leader".

    Napatech Announces new Feature Set for their NT4 Family of 1 GbE High-performance Network Adapters

    Napatech today announces the latest software release called NEWARK for their NT4 Family of 1 Gbps high-performance network PCI-Express adapters. The NEWARK release includes these new additional features to the earlier announced ANAHEIM and TUCSON software releases:
    • Aimed at the new generation 4-port 1 Gbps PCI-Express adapter family named NT4
    • HW support for the 4-port 1 Gbps expansion modules named NTPORT4
    • NT4 with an NTPORT4 module provides a unique 8-port adapter at a very attractive port price
    • Expanded DMA-based statistics module off-loading the host CPU from data collection
    • Extended RMON1 (RFC2819) EtherStats for both captured and discarded frames
    • Statistics per filter (64) and per host buffer (32)

    Napatech Announces 20GbE Pattern Matching Adapter for Security Applications and for Detailed Packet, Flow or Protocol Analysis

    Napatech today announces an upgraded version of its Pattern Matching Adapter based on Tilera´s TILE64 Multicore processor. The new Pattern Matching Adapter can be used as a stand-alone product utilizing the two new added 10 Gbps ports on the board, or in advanced configurations in conjunction with the Napatech 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps high-performance network adapters. This unique Pattern Matching solution includes the following new features:
    • Pattern Search at full 20 Gigabit per second line speed
    • Pattern Search across fragmented packets
    • Sustained capacity up to 1 million flows
    • Handles one hundred thousand new flows per second
    • 20 Gbps speed up to 2 million characters for all patterns
    • Flexible configuration of pattern length and number of patterns

    Napatech Announces New Optical Bypass Adapter

    Napatech today announces a new Optical Bypass Adapter. The Napatech Optical Bypass Adapter includes the following  features:
    • 8 optical connections, supporting 4 full-duplex optical bypass ports
    • Support for either 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps signals or a mix of these
    • Automatic switch to either bypass or pass-through mode at power failure
    • Watchdog performing automatic switch to bypass or pass-through mode at software driver or application failure
    • Support for application-controlled switch to either bypass or pass-through mode
    • Fully programmable operation via easy-to-use API
    • Switch between bypass or pass-through mode in less than 20 milliseconds
    • Support for both single-mode and multimode optical interfaces through standard LC connectors
    • Half-length format with a 1-lane PCI-Express interface

    Napatech Announces Support of PCIe Architecture with their 1Gb and 10Gb Network Adapters

    Andover, Massachusetts - 30 April 2008

    Napatech today announces the support of PCIe architecture to the already successful line of 1Gb and 10Gb FPGA-based high-performance network adapters. This in combination with their TUCSON software release provides a uniform common API to all adapters, both PCIx and PCIe, enabling easy programming of the adapters. The interface is highly optimized for high performance (e.g. when 8 Gbps data is delivered to the application memory, less than 1% of one CPU core is used).

    • Multi CPU host buffer splitting
