Napatech, the largest provider of intelligent network adapters, today announced details of its recently announced 4 x 10 Gbps Ethernet network adapter, the NT40E2-4.

With one of the most comprehensive feature sets available, the NT40E2-4 supports complex deployment scenarios supporting a unique and wide range of network analysis, test and security applications, literally out-of-the-box.

Napatech today announced that the NT20E2 intelligent network adapter has been selected as a recipient of the 2010 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.

Napatech today announced the introduction of a new 4 port 10 GbE intelligent network adapter. The NT40E2-4 provides the same extensive feature set at double the port density of the NT20E2 (2 ports 10G).

The announcement of the NT40E2-4 follows the recent announcement of the award winning NT40E2-1 single port 40 GbE network adapter, the world’s first 40 GbE intelligent network adapter, which is now shipping to customers. The new NT40E2-4 provides the same features and performance for both SONET/SDH and Ethernet interfaces.

Napatech, the world leading provider of intelligent adapters for network analysis, has won the Interop Tokyo Best of Show Award - Grand Prix for outstanding products in the category for test and measurement products.

At the event, held in Tokyo, Japan earlier this month, Napatech’s recently released NT40E2-1 40 GbE adapter for network analysis was chosen as the winner by a jury with members from leading ICT academics, business community, and media experts.

The Napatech Software Suite release includes functionality for merging data from ports on multiple Napatech network adapters into a single stream for analysis. In addition, data sharing features allow this single stream of data to be accessed simultaneously by multiple applications. The combination of these features allows high port density, high-speed network appliances to be developed supporting more than one application.

Napatech today announced the introduction of support for Intel Ethernet network adapters in its Napatech Software Suite. This allows Napatech’s OEM vendor customers to support both Napatech and Intel Ethernet network adapters using a single application software development effort.

Napatech today announced support for monitoring Ethernet data on 10 Gbps OC192c SONET and VC-4-64 SDH connections. This allows Napatech’s OEM vendor customers to provide the same features and performance for both SONET/SDH and Ethernet interfaces.

Napatech is to demonstrate a new VMware-based data distribution solution for virtual network appliances at Interop Las Vegas (8th to the 12th of May). The virtualization solution allows multiple network appliances to be consolidated onto a single server platform without having to change the application or the operating system. Napatech’s network adapters ensure that each virtual network appliance receives the data it requires at full line rate with zero packet loss.

Napatech and Spirent Communications will be jointly demonstrating one of the industry’s first data center virtualization environments supporting 40G Ethernet (GbE) server interfaces. The live demo, featured at booth #739 during Interop Las Vegas, May 10 – 12, will showcase the performance and scalability capabilities of virtualized data centers at 40G speeds..

Napatech today announced the introduction of a new software suite that promises to make network appliance development both faster and simpler. The Napatech Software Suite also includes critical functionality that can accelerate performance of network appliances.
The Napatech Software Suite provides both a hardware abstraction and streamlined Application Programming Interface (API) that allows network appliance vendors to quickly and easily take advantage of Napatech’s full range of intelligent network adapters.

Napatech announce the introduction of two new NEBS compliant intelligent network adapters. NEBS is an important set of design guidelines for manufacturers of telecom equipment and often a requirement from telecom carriers. The combination of a NEBS compliant server and Napatech’s new NEBS compliant adapters provides a cost effective and reliable platform for development of deep packet capture systems.

New whitepapers released by Napatech suggest that Deep Packet Inspection technology can be used to help mobile carriers offer more intelligent mobile data services and thereby ensure that mobile revenues keep pace with growing network traffic.
