Napatech Software Suite provides a single Application Programming Interface (API) for not only all Napatech network adapters, but also select Intel Ethernet Adapters. This allows Napatech's OEM vendor customers to address both entry-level and high-end network monitoring and analysis applications with one development effort. In addtion, the Napatech Software Suite increases the throughput performance of Intel Ethernet Adapters compared to standard Intel adapter drivers.
Performance Improvement
Using the Napatech Software Suite for integration of Intel Ethernet Adapters results in significant performance improvements compared to standard Intel adapter drivers. Packet capture performance can be improved by a factor of 5 resulting in less packet loss and more accurate analysis.
Common Application Interface
Napatech Software Suite provides a common API for all Napatech network adapters and select Intel Ethernet Adapters allowing plug-and-play operation. Multiple network adapters of different port speeds and configurations can be installed and supported via Napatech Software Suite, which includes functionality for merging traffic from all ports on an Intel network adapter into a single data stream. Napatech Software Suite also provides functionality for sharing data between multiple customer applications installed on the same physical server. These combined features provide great flexibility for Napatech's OEM vendor customers in developing and deploying network appliances.
Supported Intel Ethernet Adapters
Intel Ethernet Adapter support is provided on a per adapter basis. The adapters can be used in both packet capture and inline applications. The following Intel Ethernet Adapters are currently supported:
