SONET/SDH Adapters

Napatech SONET/SDH adapters provide full line-rate Packet Capture of 10 Gbps SONET/SDH traffic based on IEEE 802.3 WAN PHY specifications for transport of Ethernet over SONET OC192c and SDH V4-4-64 connections in Telecom and Government networks.

 

Ethernet over SONET/SDH

While Ethernet is the de-facto standard in LAN environments and fast becoming the interface of choice in WAN networks, there is still a substantial amount of Ethernet traffic transported over existing SONET/SDH connections. For end-to-end monitoring and analysis of Ethernet traffic in WAN networks, multiple network appliance probes are required, where some will monitor Ethernet interfaces and others SONET/SDH interfaces.

Napatech's SONET/SDH support ensures that customer systems and applications need only be developed once interfacing to a single Application Programming Interface (API) regardless of interface type. The same full line-rate packet capture features and performance are provided for both Ethernet and SONET/SDH connections.
