Fujitsu selects Napatech 100Gb Accelerator
for ProactnesII QM 200G Network
Monitoring & Analysis solution

Press Release

Improved performance in 200Gbps real-time network quality monitoring & analysis

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, June 3, 2016 – Napatech (OSE: NAPA) today announced a partnership with Fujitsu and Fujitsu Laboratories where the Napatech NT100E3-1-PTP SmartNIC has been chosen for Fujitsu’s Proactnes II QM 200GbE network quality monitoring & analysis solution. Fujitsu’s Proactnes II QM solution can instantly detect any deterioration of network quality and accurately identify the problem area.

Napatech FPGA SmartNICs are designed for use in standard servers, providing guaranteed delivery of data for analysis. Additionally, the FPGA SmartNICs support a range of intelligent features that accelerate processing and analysis of Ethernet data while consuming fewer server resources.

  1. Full line-rate packet capture
Napatech FPGA SmartNICs are optimized to capture network traffic at full line-rate, and this is a key advantage for the Fujitsu solution because the data provided for analyzing the network quality will be completely accurate
  2. Optimized memory performance
Napatech FPGA SmartNICs not only capture data at high speeds but also deliver data efficiently to the application by ensuring that the relevant data is batched together and sent directly to the cache memory of the server CPU core running the application. This ensures that the data is available in the fastest memory and since all the data in the cache is relevant, it allows the CPU to pre-fetch data to further expedite processing.
  3. Intelligent multi-CPU distribution
The Fujitsu Proactnes II QM high-speed application uses all the processing resources available in the server, creating a need for smarter workload balance amongst the available CPU cores. Napatech FPGA SmartNICs can identify the types of data that needs to be directed to specific CPU cores and efficiently distribute this data to up to 128 cores, allowing massive parallel processing of large amounts of data.

Napatech will exhibit the NT100E3-PTP SmartNIC at their booth (5J04) at Interop Tokyo 2016.

Naoki Oiwa, Country Manger Japan said: “In the run up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, a lot of innovative communication services such as 5G mobile and 4k/8k video will be introduced with ultra-high-speed network infrastructure being deployed to meet the demands of these technologies. The strong synergy between Napatech and Fujitsu can support communication service providers in improving service quality and develop innovative services for ultra-high-speed networks.”
